All About Mrs. Gallagly

Dear Families,

I am excited to welcome you and your child to a new school year at Onahan Elementary! I have been a part of Chicago Public Schools for 17 years, and for the past seven, I’ve had the privilege of teaching here at Onahan as a Special Education Teacher. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I have endorsements in Social Studies, Literacy, Middle School, ESL, and Science.

Teaching is my passion, and I love getting to know each student as a unique learner. My goal is always to tailor instruction to meet individual needs and to build lasting relationships with both students and families to help each child reach their highest potential.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy traveling in my RV, cheering on NASCAR (I’ve camped at five different racetracks with my family), rescuing and caring for animals, gardening, and painting. Onahan holds a special place in my heart—not only because of my role here as a teacher, but also because I’m part of this community, and all four of my children are proud Onahan graduates.

I’m looking forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories together. Let’s make this school year the best one yet!

Warmly,

Mrs. Katherine Gallagly
