About
Welcome! My name is Laura Nesse, and I’m excited to be part of the Onahan community. I’ve been teaching for 10 years and have had the opportunity to work with students in 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. While I’ve enjoyed each experience, middle school is by far my favorite! I currently teach middle school math and am passionate about helping students develop confidence and a positive mindset when it comes to learning math. I truly believe that everyone can be successful with the right support and encouragement. I’m committed to making math lessons engaging, meaningful, and accessible to all students.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University Chicago, along with endorsements in middle school math and English as a Second Language. I later went on to receive my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. I’m currently working toward my second master’s degree through Concordia’s Principal Preparation Program and am set to graduate in April.
I look forward to an exciting year of learning and discovery together! Please reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
