About

I am a lifelong Chicagoan and a product of Chicago Public Schools. I grew up in Lincoln Square and attended Lane Tech HS. I have lived in the Onahan community for 23 years, and have been working at our beautiful school for 27 years. I am proud to say that I have been on both the teaching side of this school as well as the parent side, as my 3 kids are all graduates from Onahan.

I began at Onahan as a teacher’s aide, have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades and I am excited to be back to teaching 6th grade ELA this year. I hold a BS in Education, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction, and endorsements in ESL, Reading, and Social Studies.

I love building a relationship with my students, and watching them grow as they gain confidence, grasp new ideas, and overcome challenges. I am an avid reader and am looking forward to teaching our new curriculum, HMH Into Literature. I look forward to working with my 6th grade team to keep students engaged, foster a love of learning, and help students become successful individuals.
