About

I am blessed to be part of the Onahan School community.  I have been at Onahan for 22 years, but have been with CPS for 32 years now.  I have taught 1st, 3rd, and currently 4th grade math at this school.  Prior to Onahan School, I worked at Avondale Elementary School in Logan Square for 10 years, and taught 2nd grade, 1st grade, and PreK.  I come from a family of educators.  Both my parents were teachers.  

 

I hold a B.A. in Early Childhood, an M.A. in Reading, and an ESL endorsement. I was also a teacher consultant with the Chicago Area Writing Project. I speak some Spanish, but I read and write it a little better.  I understand Tagalog, but I am not a fluent speaker.  

 

Being in a classroom is what I enjoy best.  I look forward to working with our school's community in reaching the common goal of educating the students as engaged and empowered learners and providing a safe and well-rounded environment.
