Mrs. Shelly Pillsbury
2nd Grade Teacher

Hello! My name is Mrs. Shelly Pillsbury, and I’m proud to be a 2nd grade teacher here at Onahan Elementary School. I’ve been part of the Onahan community for over 20 years and love helping young learners grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence.

In our classroom, we focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and math through hands-on learning, collaboration, and a nurturing environment where every child is seen and supported. I’m passionate about incorporating culturally responsive teaching and creating lessons that connect with students' backgrounds and real-life experiences.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education. These educational experiences have equipped me with the knowledge and strategies to design engaging, inclusive, and standards-based instruction that supports the diverse needs of all learners.
