Meet Ms Cyndi

I have been a preschool teacher at Onahan School since 1994, and I am lucky to work at a place I love doing what I love. Our youngest children bring so much energy, excitement, curiosity, and truth to the classroom. I am excited to share that with them everyday! I am committed to doing my best for your child and your family. If your preschooler loves to come to school, learning naturally follows.

I recieved my BA in Early Chilhood Education and Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois Univeristy and my MA in Multicultural Education from Collumbia College. I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I am EL endorsed and have completed the course work as an Elementary Math Specialist. In 2024, I was presented the Excellence in Elementary Math Teaching Award by the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

I take on leadership roles within the Early Childhood community. I have worked with the University of Chicago, Erikson Institute, Kohl Children's Museum, CPS Math/Stem and Early Childhood Departments. I present and create professional development classes for other teachers. I advocate for high quality developmentally appropriate preschool.
